First love....
Kind of repeat of a post in the earlier blog.
There comes a time in everyones life (atleast according to hindi movies) when you feel he/she is the one for me. You are ready to spend the rest of the life with that person. That moment came pretty early for me. It was around 10 that time. I had fallen head over heels in love with her.
" About her/ how does she look?" This is the first question people ask me when they hear about her. One of the most beautiful, I must say. She was (rather is) a German. She had come alone to India and was staying with an extremely rich family here. Don't remember where exactly I saw her but I remember her properly. When I saw her for the first time, she was dressed in black completely, with silver anklets and bangles. I couldn't understand anything what she said. Kept on seeing her in different places but never got the courage to do anything other than looking at her. Few years later (1998 to be precise), she started wearing glasses. She was looking more beautiful than ever. In 2000, she elder sister also came to India followed by her younger sister in 2001. They keep going to the doctor for plastic surgery once in a while. The youngest one has started to look a lot like the eldest.
I have no problem in spending my life with anyone of them. But the one I would love the most, the middle one, the one with glasses, the E-Class.

Apping process
Apping - a long process that kills you slowly. (Bolero Dictionary)
I apped this year. Realized how much patience one needs to have to complete it properly. The basic steps in apping :
1. Do your BE well and decide upon a field..
2. Give your GRE and TOEFL preferably the summer before you plan to app. TOEFL is valid only for 2 years and some are very strict about the validity. So make sure you take it at the correct time.
3. make a list of universities based on your profile and interests. BITS2MSPHD group (for bitsians) and Edulix would help a lot in this phase.
4. Write SOP, get recos, pay the app fee, send the docs.
And you are done with apping. So easy. Unfortunately, it is not so. Lots of time is required. Everything has to be done correctly as one slip and you get a reject. Even after doing everything correctly, you are still not sure whether you would get an admit from "safe" university.
The worst part of apping process - the WAIT. you have to be prepared to wait for ages before you get a decision from some of the universities.
Tip: What to do when some one gets an admit you want?
Just think "Every DOG has its day" and you don't want to life a dog's life do you?

Life @ WORK
Well, few months back, I joined the IT industry. And like so many others, headed down south to the so called "Silicon Valley of India" Bangalore. Like the real silicon valley, Bangalore is a damn expensive place to live in.
Going back to the main topic - work. I expected the routine IT life like in so many other companies. Few days of so called training, followed by some time on bench and then some work. Unfortunately, I wasn't surprised. It all went according to the script - training, bench, work. Spent a lot of time in office in Dec and Jan...almost all the weekends. (from 9 to 9). But then, had a cab drop me back at home everyday. It was nice. Go down in the night and you see an Indica waiting just for you.
Now the cycle repeats. Have been assigned a new project. Its in the initial phase, so have quite a lot of time on hand.
